Campfire Bay Resort is located on Fish Trap Lake, just two hours or less north of the Twin Cities metro area, making it a perfect traveling distance, even for families with small children.

Fish Trap Lake is a beautiful lake with five islands, several loon families and excellent fishing for walleye, crappie, bass, northern pike and sunfish. The lake is large enough for watersports, but also easily navigated by smaller boats, kayakers and pontoons, a popular way for families to enjoy the lake. Our resort rents out fishing boats and pontoons if you don't have one. But if boating is not desired, you can catch plenty of fish off the docks, or skip fishing all together and enjoy the sandy beach, water slide and trampoline. As 12 of our 16 cabins are lake-level adn right on the water, and the other four are under 150 feet from the lake, you can enjoy the incredible lake views from all our cabins.

Campfire Bay Resort has a lot to offer families, fishermen and groups. During the summer season, we offer several family and child centered activities, including tie-dying, woodworking, jewelry making, painting, the always popular two-liter rocket building and launching, and other family-building and memory-making events. Nightly campfires and campfire activities encourage getting to know other guests and to make it easy for children to make new friends. You will find the owners on hand every day, coordinating the activities, behind the counter in the lodge serving ice cream and cappuccinos, teaching someone how to catch and clean fish, and keeping in touch with our guests. We live on site with our three boys and enjoy the time we spend with our guests.

During the fall, winter and spring, Campfire Bay Resort offers group lodging for retreats, family reunions and quilting, knitting, and scrapbooking stays. Our large, four-bedroom, three-bathroom cabins offer plenty of space and amenities for larger groups and families, and our reasonable off-season rates make it an easy choice for event coordinators. Our new lodge offers treats like ice cream, genuine espresso, and baked goods, and also boasts a spacious, well-appointed meeting/crafting room that can accommodate groups for a variety of purposes from retreats to receptions.
